Lone Star Dog Ranch Policies

It is our policy at Lone Star Dog Ranch that drop-off and pickup are limited to 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. The main reason for this is that we try to spend as much time as possible with the dogs, photographing, feeding, cleaning, playing outside, and more. We also limit these hours because people coming and going causes disruption, and disruption causes stress. Imagine how excited your dog is when you come home from work. Now imagine you have 20 dogs at home, and you come home every hour all day. That’s a lot of excited dogs. We want dogs to relax while staying with us, and not be distracted by people coming and going.

Drop-off and pickup: 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Office and phone: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Boarding is by reservation only. Please make reservations as far in advance as possible. Holidays book up months in advance, and weekends book up weeks in advance. Please call the office early for available dates.

Daycare appointments are recommended, although we can often accommodate same-day requests when space is available.

We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel non-holiday reservations and 72 hours’ notice for holidays. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s reservations require 7 days’ notice to cancel.

Our staff has the right and responsibility to remove a dog from playgroup for aggression or any other reason they feel necessary for the safety and welfare of all the other dogs and humans.
