We knew that you wanted us to make and sell dog treats so we went to work on something we thought would be fun not only for the dog but for you as well.
I had an idea about a box filled with loot that serves all kinds of purposes and has some treats for your pooch as well. I found these cookie cutters that I had made from a 3D printer and knew these would be so cute to make of the dog heads. We started searching for a recipe that I liked that would be clean with no preservatives or anything yucky and I came across one with just simple ingredients of pumpkin, peanut butter, eggs and flour. The making of them is pretty time consuming as the dough has to be kneaded by hand and rolled out and then cut and baked on a low temperature for 25 minutes. We knew that we couldn’t make these and sell them in large quantities because of all of the time that it takes to produce them. The dog cookies are about 3 to 4” in size and have slight variations to them as they are all made by hand.
So our idea was to make two large cookies one of the dogs head and the second one is the logo of Lone Star Dog Ranch. I had a local business that bakes little dog bones from very basic ingredients of just ground oats and peanut butter and decided we would join in a venture and I would include her bones with our artisan handmade cookies and join them together for the treat portion of our loot box.
We thought it would be fun to make the box full of other fun things with each specific dog so we went shopping for things that we loved and hoped you would too. We had acrylic key chains made of each dog, and a magnet for the fridge as well. We then thought it would be fun to have tennis balls and a bandana made with the Lone Star Dog Ranch logo.
For something specific for you the pet owner we had some lip balm made and used Bubbles Marie as the model with her shiny lip and called it Bubb’s Shiny Lip Balm.
All of these items will come in the Lone Star Loot Box of whichever dog you choose.
