Description
Dawn has done it again with handmade glass coasters.
As I said before with the previous group these are very limited and when they are gone they will be gone.
This is a little information on the process of making them. The coasters are kiln formed or warm glass, meaning they are created in a kiln. The image is printed on a water slide decal with a monochrome printer. The decal is then put on the colored glass and heated to 1200 degrees to set the image and burn off the decal, leaving only the iron in the pigment in the ink. Then they are capped with a clear glass and put back in the kiln to 1480 degrees to fully fuse the two layers of glass. Each trip through the kiln takes about 12 hours to allow the glass to slowly warm up and cool down to avoid thermal shock.
I just love them, they are unique and one of a kind pieces and we are so very grateful to have them to offer to you. I tried to compensate Dawn for her time, or her materials and she just wouldn’t have any of it. That’s how blessed we are, to have someone do this for us is just heartwarming.
These coasters will be in extremely limited supply, and if and when we get more will be up to Dawn. I will offer them when we have them.
A huge thank you to Dawn, these are one of a kind and we are so very grateful to have them..
