More updates here from the exciting puppy world of Laverne & Shirley!

This week, they learn how to eat Puppy Gruel! They’ve got some baby teeth now, and they’re just about finished with bottle feeding. Time for some “real” food.

They’re still learning to eat like real dogs, so they’re a bit messy:

When puppies get this messy, there’s only one thing to do. Call in the Clean-Up Crew!

As some of you may have known, there’s a squirrel in our yard. He really enjoys moving from tree to tree, and if there are no dogs in the yard, he’ll run to the middle, make a chittering sound, and get all the dogs to chase him back up into a tree. Good squirrel fun I suppose. He sure keeps the dogs with a “hunter” instinct occupied, and they keep trying to climb the tree and barking at him.

Sukhi ALWAYS knows which tree he’s in, and usually gets some other dogs interested:

Sydney always knew where he was too:

And Whiskey found out he was here just today:

So finally, after Whiskey told us which tree he was in, we went out with a camera to see if we could get a picture of him. I guess Whiskey scared him a bit, cause here he is, looking more than a little scared:

Serves him right for taunting the dogs all the time. Something tells me he won’t learn a lesson though!

Here we are again, with the continuing adventures of Laverne & Shirley!

The girls have their eyes open now, though they likely cant see much more than light and shadows, basic shapes, etc. We figure this is something they see quite often:

They sure know when there’s a bottle near them though, they start squealing as soon as they smell that milk! It’s hard to believe how much they can eat, their little bellies get HUGE!

They tend to fall asleep quite quickly after they’re all full.

Remember, we’re still looking for homes for these girls, once they get old enough. They’re four weeks old right now, they’ll probably be ready for a new home at about 6-8 weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

These adorable pups came from a litter of TEN!

Unfortunately, their mother passed away from complications during birth, leaving these girls hungry and looking for some positive role models. I think we can help with that.
