It’s the series finale of Laverne and Shirley!

The girls have been away for a few weeks growing up and playing with their older siblings, and they’ve come back to see us for one last time. Both girls have found excellent homes, and we’d like to thank everyone who wrote in, called, and emailed, the response was amazing!

Though it’s mentioned in the video, we’d like to remind everyone once again to please spay or neuter your pets. There are far too many nice dogs out there, and not nearly enough good homes for them all. This story has a happy ending, but unfortunately many unwanted pups aren’t so lucky. Help control the pet population, and spay or neuter your pets!

Welcome back to Week 4 of Laverne & Shirley!

This week, in addition to eating more and more solid-esque food, the puppies are learning to socialize with other dogs.  We spoke at length to our vet about what is the right age to give them away.  They still have a lot of learning to do, and many child-like phases of development. Just last week, they found their “voice” and were very noisy. They would just wail and cry, for no other reason than to experiment with making sound.

This week, they are learning about dog “manners” and what is appropriate and not appropriate. Things like sharing the water bowl, and when other dogs want to play, and when they don’t. They also need to learn appropriate play-biting, sometimes they bite hard!

Vera has been VERY patient with them, she likes babies.

The hose is FASCINATING!

This week, they learn how to eat Puppy Gruel! They’ve got some baby teeth now, and they’re just about finished with bottle feeding. Time for some “real” food.

They’re still learning to eat like real dogs, so they’re a bit messy:

When puppies get this messy, there’s only one thing to do. Call in the Clean-Up Crew!

Here we are again, with the continuing adventures of Laverne & Shirley!

The girls have their eyes open now, though they likely cant see much more than light and shadows, basic shapes, etc. We figure this is something they see quite often:

They sure know when there’s a bottle near them though, they start squealing as soon as they smell that milk! It’s hard to believe how much they can eat, their little bellies get HUGE!

They tend to fall asleep quite quickly after they’re all full.

Remember, we’re still looking for homes for these girls, once they get old enough. They’re four weeks old right now, they’ll probably be ready for a new home at about 6-8 weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!

These adorable pups came from a litter of TEN!

Unfortunately, their mother passed away from complications during birth, leaving these girls hungry and looking for some positive role models. I think we can help with that.
